RESEARCH WORK

  1. The Department of Organization, Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy is one of the leading departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy, which forms the professional knowledge and skills of future specialists and is a profile, graduating department at the School of Pharmacy.
  2. The department trains future pharmacists to work in the pharmacy network of the Republic of Kazakhstan and other regions, as well as for organizations engaged in scientific research, registration, licensing, storage, sale and advertising of pharmacy products.
  3. The main direction of the development of scientific activity of the faculty and staff of the department is the development of priority, breakthrough, competitive scientific and technical products in the field of pharmacy.
  4. The range of scientific interests of the staff of the department is quite wide. The main directions of scientific research: assessment of the effectiveness of the implementation of various programs of preferential drug provision and provision of the population with narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and other controlled groups of drugs; assessment of staffing of regional pharmaceutical markets; marketing research of various groups of drugs. Based on the materials of scientific research, the staff of the department over the past five years has published scientific articles in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and publications, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in collections of scientific papers. More than 150 scientific papers have been published, more than 100 of them in publications included in the list of the Committee for Control in Education and Science (CCSON), in domestic and foreign journals. At the same time, the number and quality of such publications is growing every year.
  5. The research work of the department is carried out in different directions in accordance with the work plan of the department. An important component of research work is participation in scientific, scientific-methodical, educational-methodical conferences of various status.
  6. The scientific activity of the department is aimed at performing scientific research (R&D) within the framework of fundamental and applied research in pharmaceutical sciences.
  7. Direction of the department: The main directions of development of pharmacy, management and marketing of pharmaceutical organizations and clinical pharmacy in Kazakhstan.
  8. The following types of research work are carried out in the direction of the department:

– improvement of the management system and methods, introduction of effective mechanisms for coordination and control of pharmaceutical activities in accordance with international standards and requirements and features of the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry;

– study of the problems of regulatory regulation of pharmaceutical activity, the sphere of circulation of medicines, medical devices and medical equipment in the pharmaceutical market of services and goods;

– substantiation of the modern organizational structure of management and evaluation system of healthcare and pharmacy technologies in the Republic of Kazakhstan;

– research of problems and prospects of development of prescription and over-the-counter drug and IMN release in international and domestic pharmaceutical practice;

– substantiation of effective pharma-economic mechanisms (pricing, insurance, lending, taxation, investment) regulating the organization of the provision of pharmaceutical care (services) provided to the population in conditions of limited health resources and the introduction of a social model of compulsory social health insurance (OSMS) in Kazakhstan;

– development of scientific approaches to the introduction of effective pricing mechanisms and reimbursement (compensation) of the cost of medicines and medical devices in the context of reforming the domestic healthcare system and pharmacy in the direction of the introduction of the OSMS model;

– study of organizational, economic and regulatory problems of the organization of drug production in pharmacies;

– development and implementation of organizational and economic recommendations for the formation of a drug form and lists of medicines within the framework of the GOBMP, as well as the rational use of medicines;

– study of clinical aspects of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, pharmaceutical interaction and issues of pharmacovigilance of medicines and monitoring of side effects of drugs, IMN and MT;

– based on the study of the goals and objectives of pharmaceutical marketing at the macro and micro levels, the development of methods for determining the demand for medicines. Marketing methods for determining the need for studying the demand for medicines for making managerial and legislative decisions;

– research of modern socio-psychological foundations of the organization of pharmaceutical activity in the conditions of development of the domestic market of drugs, IMN and MT;

– scientific substantiation of the strategy of development of public associations of domestic pharmacy and directions of development of the social movement in the pharmaceutical community;

– to determine the competencies and develop the qualification characteristics of clinical pharmacists taking into account the needs of the modern pharmaceutical market;

– pharmacoepidemiological and pharmacoeconomical research on the creation and introduction of domestic import-substituting medicines to the pharmaceutical market;

– improving the organization of the production of medicines, the provision of medicines to the population and medical organizations and pharmaceutical services to the population in the light of the requirements of international standards (GxP) and market conditions of medical and pharmaceutical services.

-In order to increase the volume of funding for scientific research, the faculty actively participates in competitions for the implementation of a project on topical issues of pharmacy development. Over 5 years, more than 20 projects have been submitted to competitions held by international, national foundations, organizations for the implementation of fundamental and applied research and programs.
